VinFast was planning to launch its first electric SUV in India during the upcoming festive season. However, as per the latest reports, the EV maker is set to delay the launch of the VF 7 and VF 6 by a month.
The Vietnamese EV maker is still in the process of setting up its sales network in the country. It is said that the launch has been postponed for this very reason.
Production at VinFast’s Thoothukudi facility has also been pushed back by a month. The plant, which was supposed to be operational on June 30, will now begin production on July 30.
The delays have had a ripple effect on VinFast’s India plans. Bookings for the VF 7 and VF 6 will now open in mid-July, while deliveries are expected to commence in August 2025.
Reports also suggest that VinFast has revised its sales target for the first year. The EV maker is now aiming to sell 3,000 units in its first year of operations.
