Volkswagen Polo completes 10 years in India

The Volkswagen Polo is celebrating 10 years since its launch in India. The first generation Polo in India went into production back in 2009.

Over the past decade, Volkswagen has offered the Polo with multiple petrol and diesel engine variants. The first Polo was offered with 1.6-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engines. More powerful GT TSI and GT TDI variants were introduced later.

The GT TSI gets a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 104 BHP and 175 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The GT TDI variant comes with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit that put out 108 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
