Volkswagen Taigun set for pre-Diwali launch

The Taigun shares its platform with the Skoda Kushaq and is expected to be offered with two turbo-petrol engines.

Volkswagen is planning to launch the Taigun crossover in India ahead of Diwali.

The Taigun is based on the MQB A0 IN platform, which is shared with the Skoda Kushaq. Both models are part of VW's India 2.0 project.

The Taigun first debuted in concept form at the 2020 Auto Expo. The styling is similar to VW's larger SUVs featuring simple yet classy lines. However, the rear fascia is quite unique and dominated by the tail lamp graphic that includes an LED light bar.

The Taigun is expected to be offered with two turbo-petrol engines. These include 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI units paired with either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic or 7-speed DSG.
