Volkswagen Tiguan facelift launch pushed to June 2021

The Tiguan will now be available with a new 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that puts out 187 BHP and 320 Nm.

According to a media report, Volkswagen has postponed the launch of the Tiguan facelift by a month due to rising Covid-19 cases in the country. The SUV was initially scheduled to launch in May 2021.

The updated Tiguan was unveiled last month. The SUV gets a few cosmetic updates including a redesigned front fascia, sleeker looking twin-pod LED headlights, a redesigned grille and a new front bumper.

The rear of the car still features L-shaped tail lamp clusters with the Tiguan lettering in the centre. The SUV rides on new design 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Tiguan comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 3-zone automatic climate control which can be controlled using the touchscreen, 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and connected car features.

The Tiguan will now be available with a new 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that puts out 187 BHP and 320 Nm. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
