Volkswagen Virtus 1.5L will not get a manual transmission

According to reports, Volkswagen will not offer the 1.5L TSI petrol engine with a manual transmission with the Virtus sedan. This engine will be offered only with a 7-speed DSG, and puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm.

The Virtus will also be available with a 1.0L TSI engine paired with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.0L engine produces 113 BHP and 175 Nm.

The Volkswagen Virtus is based on the MQB A0 IN platform, which it shares with the Skoda Slavia. It will be available in two trims - Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Virtus replaces the Vento in VW's product range. It competes with the Skoda Slavia, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
