Volvo has reduced the price of the XC40 by Rs. 3 lakh

According to a media report, Volvo has reduced the price of the XC40 by Rs. 3 lakh. The SUV now costs Rs. 36.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Volvo is also offering free accessories worth Rs. 1 lakh.

The Volvo XC40 is available in a single T4 R-Design trim. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 187 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which drives the front wheels.

The SUV gets a dual-tone exterior with a powered tail gate and panoramic sunroof. On the inside, the car gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control and wireless charging. It also comes with lane keeping aid, front collision mitigation support and park assist.

Media reports suggest that Volvo is evaluating the all-electric version of the XC40 called the XC40 Recharge for India. It is powered by two 150 kW electric motors that generate 402 BHP and 659 Nm. The car uses a 78 kWh battery that is claimed to offer a maximum range of more than 400 km (WLTP cycle).
