The XC40 Recharge has a maximum range of 418 km.

Volvo has launched the XC40 Recharge electric SUV in India. It is offered in a single variant priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries will commence in October this year.

As the name suggests, the XC40 Recharge is the all-electric version of the XC40. It is based on the CMA platform and features a similar exterior and interior design. The electric version gets a blanked-out front grille and different alloy wheels.

Inside, the car gets a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The centre console houses a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and in-built Google Assistant. Some of the other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and 2-zone automatic climate control.

The XC40 Recharge is available in the dual-motor P8 variant. Together, the electric motors generate 402 BHP and 660 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The EV is powered by a 79 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed maximum range of 418 km. Volvo says that the battery pack can be recharged from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes using a fast charger.

Being a Volvo, the XC40 Recharge is packed with safety features. The car comes with 7 airbags, ABS, traction control, stability control, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision mitigation, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
