Volvo has updated all the diesel variants of the XC90 with additional features. The 2018 Volvo XC90 now costs Rs. 76.47 lakh in base Momentum trim, while the R-Design and Inscription variants are priced at Rs. 83.92 lakh and Rs.86.96 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
With the update, features like heated front seats, paddle shifters, adaptive cruise control, park assist and compass come standard across all D5 trims including the base Momentum variant. The R-Design version gets Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross traffic alert, rear collision mitigation support in addition to a front collision warning system, a 360-degree camera and a heated steering wheel. The top-spec Inscription trim is now offered with ventilated seats with massage function for rear seats.
The 2018 Volvo XC90 D5 is mechanically identical to the outgoing model. It uses the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 232 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 480 Nm @ 1,750-2,250 rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and it has all-wheel drive.
Volvo also offers a petrol-hybrid in the T8 Excellence trim of the XC90 in India.
