VW Ameo Class 2019 kicks off in Coimbatore on June 22, 2019

The first round of the 2019 VW Ameo Class, formerly known as the Ameo Cup, will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on June 22, 2019.

The VW Ameo Class is part of the MRF MMSCI FMSCI National Championship. A total of 18 drivers will take part this year, including 9 new drivers. This year's winner will be officially crowned National Champion by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Last month, the selected drivers took part in a 2-day fitness camp in Pune. Test sessions were carried out at the Kari Motor Speedway ahead of the season opener. The sessions were conducted by driver coaches Rayomand Banajee and Karthik Tharani. Drivers were briefed on the fundamentals of racing, racing lines and braking drills. The sessions also helped new drivers to get accustomed to their cars.

The race weekend will be divided into two free practice sessions followed by qualifying on Saturday. Three races will spread between Saturday and Sunday.

The second round of the Volkswagen Ameo Class 2019 will be held at the Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai in July 2019.
