VW to launch Tiguan 5-seater SUV in 2021

The Tiguan will be offered with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine.

Volkswagen has announced that the Tiguan 5-seater SUV will be re-launched in the Indian market later this year. The SUV is a part of the brand's four-pronged offensive which also includes the Taigun crossover, the T-Roc and the Tiguan Allspace.

The Tiguan facelift gets a few design updates, which include re-profiled twin-pod LED headlamps that have twin L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a redesigned front bumper. At the rear, the SUV gets new tail lamp units and a redesigned bumper with chrome inserts.

The Tiguan will be offered with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine shared with the Tiguan Allspace. This engine delivers 187 BHP and 320 Nm and comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

A front-wheel drive entry-level variant might also be on offer. It could be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.
