VW releases digital sketch of T-Cross compact SUV

The Volkswagen T-Cross concept was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The company has now released a digital sketch of the production-spec T-Cross compact SUV.

The T-Cross is based on the VW Group's MQB platform and measures 4,107 mm in length. The digital rendering suggests that the SUV features wraparound tail lights with an LED light bar stretching across the rear fascia. It has a dual-tone rear bumper with an integrated scuff plate. The T-Cross has a strong shoulder line, flared wheel arches and roof rails. VW claims that the interiors of the T-Cross have been designed to offer flexibility and the mini SUV will feature a rear seat with fore & aft adjustment.

The urban SUV will sit below other SUVs like the T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg. While the engine options have not yet been revealed, it will get a front wheel drive system.

The T-Cross will also get an array of active and passive safety features. Front Assist with ambient traffic monitoring and Lane Assist are some of the driver assistance systems that will be offered as standard.

The VW T-Cross will make its European debut in the latter half of 2018. The SUV will also be launched in China and South America.
