Which cars have had two-generations being sold together in India?

ScorpioN and Scorpio Classic

The new Big Daddy and the Grandpa are sold together. However, they are aimed at different sets of people with the former for large families and the latter, politicians.

Grand i10 and Grand i10 nios

They were sold together with the Grand i10 nios commanding a 50000 rupees of starting price over the Grand i10.

Similar case with i10 and Grand i10 when the latter was launched

Very few manufacturers can pull it off. Some did successfully, others didn't.

- The Innova Hycross & the Innova Crysta: Sure helps that the Hycross & Crysta are completely different animals (FWD vs RWD, monocoque vs BoF, Petrol vs Diesel).

- The 2nd & 3rd-gen Dzires, the former being positioned for the taxi market with the tour moniker.

- The Octavia was sold alongside its next-gen replacement, the Laura.

- Maruti 800 & Alto. The latter was actually its replacement worldwide.

- Fiesta Classic & the 2011 Fiesta which was priced too high & bombed.

- Tata Indica & Indica Vista.

Ford India did it for the longest time when they had the Ikon, the Fiesta Classic and the global Ford Fiesta selling side-by-side.

Then we had the Hyundai Xcent Prime (fleet) selling alongside the Xcent Facelift. Later the Xcent Facelift moved to fleet applications and the Aura was launched.

Similarly, we had the Grand i10 Prime (fleet) selling alongside the Grand i10 facelift. Later we had the Grand i10 facelift selling alongside the Grand i10 NIOS.

And now we will famously see the Maruti Swift Dzire current gen as the Tour S (fleet) and the new 2024 Dzire being sold together.
