Why the cheaper Jeep Compass AT won't make any difference

Jeep is rumoured to be launching the Compass 4x4 diesel automatic in a lower variant later in Jan.

We are quite disappointed with Jeep's slow response times. For years, there was a void in the segment for a good diesel AT SUV, other than the Creta. Jeep did nothing. They finally launched a Diesel AT 2 years too late (i.e. the Trailhawk), but it was so overpriced that only Mukesh Ambani could afford it.

In lesser time, Kia set up an all new factory, hired thousands of employees, got hundreds of vendors onboard and launched the Seltos (Diesel AT included). Finally, Jeep crawled out of its bed and readied the Diesel AT in lower-priced variants (which will still be more expensive than the competition).

Not to forget, the next-gen Creta Diesel AT can be seen on the horizon (next-gen XUV500 isn't too far away either). Other than die-hard Compass fans, no one is really going to bother with the Compass Diesel AT. The Jeep Compass will soon be the oldest product in the class, the most expensive and the one with the smallest cabin.
