Yamaha FZ-X spied undisguised

The bike is likely to feature a neo-retro look with a matte black finish.

An image of the upcoming Yamaha FZ-X has surfaced online. The picture appears to have been taken while the bike was being assembled on the production line.

The FZ-X will be based on the FZ-FI. The bike is likely to feature a neo-retro look with a matte black finish. It has a round headlamp and telescopic fork suspension with rubber gaiters at the front. The bike also appears to be equipped with an upswept exhaust.

The Type Approval Certificate of the Yamaha FZ-X has revealed that the bike measures 2,020 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1,115 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1,330 mm. The bike's gross weight is 289 kg.

The FZ-X is expected to be powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder engine producing 12.2 BHP @ 7,500 rpm. Since it's the same engine that powers the FZ, peak torque is expected to be identical at 13.3 Nm.
