The RZ is now completely dismantled as parts will now start going for sand blasting followed by powder coating and other parts like tank, side panels and other plastic parts will be painted.

The RZ is now completely dismantled as parts will now start going for sand blasting followed by powder coating and other parts like tank, side panels and other plastic parts will be painted. While dismantling we got a few more surprises like the air box cover was broken and fixed with M seal and a crack where one of the engine mounting damper rubber fits and a few missing parts on the main stand centre pin. These issues will have to be addressed to the best of our abilities but luckily we now have most of the parts required or to be replaced to complete the build. So, at least now we know where the previous mechanics/owners have messed up and we shall fix all these shortcomings. That way I am 100% confident about the bike and its capabilities..

Some pictures…

Rear cowl and side panels. The cowl crack were repaired and given to me by the previous owner but the side panels will have to be fixed. But as I said earlier I will mostly go with the replacement undamaged panels

Mounted on the bike

Interesting position of the coolant reservoir behind the 2T oil tank

Stripped down of body parts minus the engine

The other side with the magnet cover off

Rear suspension

M seal on the air box

Top view of the air box

Bottom view of the air box

Crack on the rear mudguard which has to be fixed as well

The portion where the carburettors are connected to the air box

Broken part of the air box which was held on by M seal

Engine damper bush mounting point which has to be welded back

2T oil tank

Coolant reservoir

Miscellaneous parts like carbs etc and the magnet side engine cover. The brown cover on both engine covers are made of bronze unlike the OE which are made of plastic. Might keep the bronze covers itself

Almost stripped down chassis

Swing arm and old chain
