ZoomCar arrives in Pune

ZoomCar India Pvt. Ltd., the self-drive car rental company, is starting operations in Pune.

The company is soft-launching its services in the city with a "Beta version". It's first location will be at the Formule 1 Hotel at Hinjewadi. To start off, Zoom's Pune fleet will include Ford Figos, EcoSports and Mahindra Scorpios. Rentals for these cars will be the same as Bangalore. A full launch is expected with many more vehicles across multiple sites in a few weeks.

Zoom plans to open its second location at the Ibis Hotel on Samrat Ashok Road, near the airport. The company also plans to expand its fleet by adding more vehicles.

Zoom's plans also include the launch of a smartphone application, which will be available on Android and iOS platforms. This application is presently available as a Beta version and allows users to access the desired cars without using their keys. All that is needed to lock and unlock the cars is a smartphone and the application.
