Peugeot 208 facelift spotted in India

An uncamouflaged version of the Peugeot 208 has been spotted in Mumbai. The spotted model is in its facelifted guise, which was globally unveiled last year. It is unclear whether the car in question has been imported by the automaker or by a private owner.

The spotted car wears some masking tapes at the front and rear in order to cover the Peugeot logos and other badges. The only badge visible at the rear says PureTech, indicating that the hatchback is being powered by a three-cylinder engine from the PureTech family. Internationally, the Peugeot 208 is available with three PureTech petrol engines - 1.0-litre with 66 BHP, 1.2-litre with 80 BHP and 1.2-litre with 108 BHP.

Peugeot, which is a part of the PSA Group, has already confirmed its plans to enter the Indian car market in the next few years. The spotted test car is possibly a part of the company's steps to study Indian conditions through collection of real world data in order to finalise its Indian product portfolio.
