Mahindra Scorpio facelift spied undisguised

Test mules of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift have been spotted earlier. But, for the first time, undisguised images of the updated Scorpio have surfaced on the internet.

In its updated form, the dimensions of the new model are expected to remain unchanged. However, the SUV does get a few updates on the cosmetic front. The spy images indicate that the Scorpio facelift will get a redesigned, dual-tone, 7-slat grille and minor changes to the front bumper and headlights, in addition to new 5-spoke alloy wheels. This particular variant has chrome fog lamp housings, front scuff plate and clear lens indicators. The ORVMs come with integrated turn signals.

Moving to the rear, the dual-tone tail gate has been replaced with a simpler design. The black plastic cladding has been given a miss, so has been the trim surrounding the license plate. Instead, the Scorpio facelift gets a conventional chrome garnish at the back, while the LED tail lights have been carried over from the current model. It looks like Mahindra will introduce a new S11 variant of the Scorpio.

The interior of the SUV is expected to get a mild refresh as well. It could get new design upholstery and an updated infotainment system. The S11 variant gets a front-facing third-row of seats. It is also rumoured that the updated variant will get a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with the suite of apps found on its larger sibling - the XUV500.

Media reports suggest that the Scorpio facelift will get a re-tuned 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine which could gain around 20 BHP over the current engine, while also gaining some torque. Considering this, the new unit might make around 138 BHP of peak power.
