Suggestions on Value For Money for Scorpio VLX ICE

Hi
I am a novice in ICE eventhough i have owned 3cars earlier due to my wife and dad's pester i didnt really bother about having good quality music for my car and here the day comes
i have booked a Scorpio VLX and is due in 3 weeks

I know it has a Kenwood HU and strg remote and Blue tooth and
Fr 2 speakers and rr 2 speakers

1.without much disturbing the current stock setup what are the best ways to improve the quality of music in the car?
2. Please suggest some gud dealers in audio systems who can support me in giving VFM for ICE

1. Options i have in mind
have the same stock HU and FR Speakers

improve the quality by adding a amp and good speakers at the rear door or have a fitment at the side of third row seats since it is forward facing.
with a VFM sub woofer which does not occupy more space. and if dampening is going to improve sound quality then go for it

what will be a good budget for this kind of setup and where can i get this set in chennai. (Please give the names and address and phone nos of the shops

Well, you'll need to think the amount of money you want to spend.

There are components avalible from Rs4,000-Rs 4,00,000, so this ends up on how much you want to spend.

Everything bought off you will be according to your liking, hence will be value for money.

I'd suggest 1st decide the budget and then we can move further what to buy in that particular range.

Change in decession after having a test ride

hi everyone,
went for a test drive yesterday in the scorpio vlx the ICE system as such is pathetic i thought of not disturbing the exisiting setup - but an idea came up to my mind - remove the HU and the speakers from the new car and install in my old scorpio MY2006 and go for a brand new good one for the new car

requirements

1. want a center DVD screen.
2. Good HU with built in DVD player maybe 2DIN or 1DIN
3. Component system with speakers and sub woofers.
Budget first bet 30k and stretch it to 50k max

where to buy in chennai with bill and with warranty

the best option is to go for a CarPC. yes thats what i have in my ANHC.
it solves the purpose of you DVD screen and a dvd player.
and more over you can use it for GPS, OBDII scanner and you can store all your multimedia at one place, no need to carry CDs around with you.

this will cost you about 25k-30k depending on your config.

the one stop shop for the carpc is www.iride.in

hi monty

i checked out iride .in. i have a couple of queries:

1) I am wondering if the car pc unit that i buy can also be used as a desktop at home.

i am asking this because my laptop is almost dead and i was considering getting a small desktop cpu without a monitor(i am using a 21 inch acer lcd).

The link below shows an enclosure that can be setup behind a large monitor.

iRide Technologies - M350 Universal Mini-ITX enclosure

2) You have mentioned 20 to 25 k as cost, can you provide a recomended break up for the same

your asnswers to your queries as follows:-

1. yes, this can be used as a normal desktop at home, infact these are for home desktop only but can be used for automotive enviroment as well.

2. the cost break up is mentioned on that site. i mentioned the price 20-25k was for the automotice enviornment only, because here you will buy a front end software and a power supply for about 3.5k, 7" vga display about 15k and few more things.

hi guys i am back
my car is yet to be delivered since its a high end spec and it takes some time i was very specific in VLX with Airbag 8 seater diamond white and didnt settle for anything less dealer offered me a 7 seater, without airbag and other colors.
ok lets come to the topic spoke to nitrous and meet him last week

1. HU narrowed down to JVC AVX 826 or 726
2. Comps from JBL
3. Tweets form JBL
4. Amps ???
5. RR 8 inch ovals or 6 inch coax not deceided
6. sub brand not decided
7 Center LCD screen may be 10 inches
Nitrous has told me that he will help to buy and install
all for a budget of 50-55k

Hi fellows atlast i the d day has come and i am taking my car delivery tommorrow, but still i have confusion on the ICE
HU - to go for JVC AVX 726 or pioneer AVH 4250DVD pros and cons
advantages of JVC
less by 5,000 than pioneer
detachable face plate so chances of mishandling during valet parking and theft can be reduced
can play any type of format and scratched dvd
can play video from usb divx till 2mbps
disadvantages
cant beet the pioneer sound quality
ie
and one more thing is that for insurring i need to get the items with bill and warranty
team please suggest
