Yea i am using 12" Id v3 and i am very happy with it .
It goes Low , it kicks hard , its a fast sub and gives very pleasing bass . Blends with the front stage very well . One of my best buys !!

He likes more of hip hop so i suggested 15"

JBL Gti and IDV3 are both very different subs. I have heard both of them...If you are getting JBL Gti for 16k go for it with eyes closed.

I see a mismatch

Front Speakers - Infinity REF6030CS/KAPPA60.9CS
Rear - Infinity REF9632CF
Mono - Clarion DPX 1851
4 Ch - Harman Kardon CA470
Sub - JBL P1222/ GTi W12 MKII (if I can procure it from abroad)
Wiring - Scosche

I have a few questions.
Firstly is the equipment fine as in is any thing mismatched.
Can the Mono provide sufficient power to the GTi sub.
What power cables should I be using.
Since I am planning to keep rear speakers how can I create a vent for the bass to "flow" into the cabin.
What would be the best choice for the box considering I manage to arrange the GTi. I am keen on a sealed box.
Also I want the rear part of the sub to show even after putting it in a box. Is this possible. A Bandpass enclosure will NOT do.

Any other suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Infinity Kappa 60.9 and Harman Kardon CA470 can't get along well.
Have a look at Harman Kardon CA470 amp specs:
* 85W RMS x 4 channels @ 4 ohms and ≤1% THD + N*
* 135W RMS x 4 channels @ 2 ohms and ≤1% THD + N*
So, It would exceed the RMS power handling of your Kappa's as they are 2 ohm speakers (RMS power handling = 90 Watts @ 2-ohms ).

Same issue with Infinity Reference 6030cs.

Your HK CA470 in bridged mode is stable at 4 ohms only ... No issues with Sub, JBL P1222; you can wire the DVC in series .

Gurus please correct me if I am wrong.

There is no such problem with speakers i guess.
There are many people running 100w rms speakers giving 150-200wrms power to them.

Also he is not going to power the Sub with the CA470. he has the clarion mono for it.

Oh .. Yes... I am sorry about the sub.. yes he has a mono amp for it.
But, I was bit worried on the Kappa's ... coz., 45W RMS is really considerable!

Raghu, there wont be any such problem with the speakers as the front channeled will be HPF'd and the gains set accordingly.

LBM paaji how would you rate these subs for the genres-Electro House, Hip Hop and Psytrance.
The subs in consideration are
JBL GTI 12
IDQ12v3
ID12v3

I hate to say but you are comparing very different ranges here. The price range of above mentioned sub woofer range from 15k to 30k+ so the comparison is not true.

But like I mentioned before for 15k I would choose the GTi eyes closed.

I'm running the exact setup, no problem at all. It is an awesome combo.

Thank you so much everyone.

@LBM - If you say so I shall go for the Gti only.

Can someone please tell me which power cables to use. The CA470 manual suggests 4AWG wires for it but the DPX1851 manual has no such recommendation.

What budget do you have? If you have a budget in excess of 10K go for the Kicker 0awg kit else there is always the much popular finolex/polycab power wiring

I see that you are using : Infinity Kappa - 680.9cs - 693.9i ; which have 4 ohm impedance. I would never suspect any issue with those.

Anyways, I thank the gurus for their thoughts on the concern

I think you have not got it right, Both the infinity kappa speakers work at 2 ohms impedance. Now do you think my verdict is fine?
