Why do you have both i.e. speaker in rear door & tray?

How many amps? Which one is powering what?

The sub ate up the whole trunk. You must be travelling solo all the time. Or does the family travel light.

2 things I would consider.

a. the subwoofer is mounted face up. the suspension (aka spider) a heavy coned subwoofer like the kicker 18" will slowly sag when teh subwoofer is mounted either face up or face down.

b. an amp to drive the front and rear speakers. Since you have 6 speakers (I assume the rear door and deck speakers are getting the rear channel input from the HU) a single 6 channel amp will work.

Not everyone has to have only one car to travel

As far as I can see MR Frankenstein has more than 5 or six, so this is the car to fool around I guess , rest can be used for travelling.

Not really. It is plain that the sub box is removeable so the trunk can be used for other "less glorious" duty.

Technocrat and Nvin

Even with 3 pairs of speakers i can hardly hear the speakers with the sub.

I have a pioneer 944 amp for the speakers. The box was made according to kicker specs.

San , family does not even sit in this sonata gOLD.

I feel the sub facing up, may not be at its true best capacity, and the enclosure seems way to big. If no one else is privy to the car, and just you, why dont you go in for a full custom enclosure and fabricate good moulds for the entire boot.

The 18" solox cannot be mounted in a sonata without facing up unless the enclosure is built inside the boot with the sub in there, in such case it cannot be taken out without dismantling the box itself, hence restricting access to the spare wheel.
The box is a exact 5 Cu.Ft box which kicker suggests as the smallest enclosure size if it's powered by 2500 RMS of amplification.
With 5000 RMS going in , the SPL box prescribed by Kicker is 10 cu ft which is impossible in a sonata boot.

As it is this 18" solo x is a extreme product and not really musical sounding , it's pure SPL,

I personally feel though a Sealed enclosure can improve whatever SQ it produces currently.

So hope Frankie is happy the BOOOM Effect now. By the way how is the Kenwood HU? Any particular reason for that being selected?
