Welcome to Palio club. 1.2 is not really a sluggish car. You need to work more on the gears. I drove Siena 1.2 till few weeks ago. I was comfortable driving it in the city.

Thanks guys,

will keep you guys posted on my (hopefully enjoyable) experiences with my new baby!

update- I have decided not to go in for teh cash discount. Instead, i am taking a set of aura alloys, a Nippon 4x50 W MP3 with 2 4 inch round speakers and 2 10 inch ovals (All sony explod) I have to pay 2K over and above, instead of teh cash disc.

Is this a good deal?

HImanshu

I would still say Swift... till such time the A$$ issue gets sorted out.. given the speed at which the fiat depreciates, a better value proposition would be to get yourself a good used 1.2/1.6,.. you can get them dirt cheap now a days..

I would not touch the "Nippon" MP3 player...but thats just me... would always suggest one sticks to tried and tested brands..

I bought it from Manipal on Sankey road.

Great sales exp. will get delivery tomorrow. Those guys are really pushing fiat sales now.

While I was in the showroom, they finalised an adventure sale as well and there were a few palio queries.

I second that. Get a blaupunkt if you have to get it from the dealer. All tata dealers carry blaupunkt as well.

I third that. All guys in Concorde Motors, say that they stopped promoting the Nippon players/speakers, though I've no idea about Nippon.

Palio Delivered

Hi GUys,
Finally got my car delivered on Monday. The original delivery was for Sat. But the RTO comps were down on Sat (or so the Manipal guys said) so I got delivery on Monday and that too on temp regn.

Initial impressions of teh car have been quite positive, with the quality of the interiors leagues ahead of the Getz or swift.

one thing i noticed was that my ELX versions interiors, apart from looking better, were made of infinitely better materials than that of the ELPS that I test drove. A 22k difference in the two cars is deifnitely justified if u go in for the ELX.

The car seems quite well put together and my wife commented on the solidity of the doors as soon as she opened them.

Even my boss had a good initial impression of the car when she checked it out!

The drive is quite smooth and evens out the less than perfect roads in whitefield.

Will keep u guys updated and will post pics soon!

Cheers

Himanshu

MODS- could u please change the heading to reflect the purchase of the . Thanks

Congratulations Himangshu. Nice car. My neighbour has had a 1.2ELX for the last 4and a half years and he has only taken it for regular servicing. Nothing has gone wrong at all. Hope the same for you.
