Is'nt the current TUV 300 a 3-pot engine?
Is this changing in the T10 variant?

It just feels like a knee jerk reaction to Tata Nexon's launch. Nothing really exciting to look forward to.

May be this is a knee jerk reaction to the nexon or upcoming ecosport face-lift or may be not. But mahindra could not wait to catch up with the trend of premium features like touch screen etc in this segment. Most of the cars that TUV300 competes with, have a fully loaded varient with features consistent with T10.

This 'Tupperware' on wheels can never hold a candle to the Nexon! I think Mahindra has to rethink it's design on this and KUV, they all look like bread boxes with wheels at four ends.

To add to your breadbox opinion, I think that the TUV resembles a fresh bread-pack, rigid from all angles, whereas the the KUV is a bread-pack gone extremely stale, with crumbling lines all across. :P

re: Mahindra TUV300 T10 MT & AMT launched at Rs. 9.75 - 10.65 lakhs

This should have been a T8+ variant, the updates are not substantial for it to be a separate variant altogether. The features listed for T10 variant can be done as after market add ons and does not add value over the t8 variant.

Mahindra has missed the plot, they could have added the following for the T10 variant and priced accordingly

# Side & curtain airbags
# ACC
# Diamond cut alloys
# Sunroof
# Cruise control
# Auto headlamps
# Rain sensing wipers

The above features would have widened the TUV 300's appeal.

Ecosport titanium+ with ACC, 6 airbags and few other goodies is priced @ 9.99 lacs and @ 9.75 lacs, the T10 variant is over priced for what it offers.

I can't believe Mahindra has the idea to think that someone will touch this telephone booth for 11 lakhs plus on road.

Anand Mahindra is a stylish guy, don't know where his product and style sense goes when they are building utter crap like this.

Just curious to know what you think of rupees 3-crore Mercedes G-Class which has same bread-pack look. I agree on KUV, though. It's really hideous and M&M should kill it. But TUV300 is a looker. Yes, it's not perfect. Worst is, the 3-pot engine. God, I hate our obsession with erratic-idling 3-pot motors, at least diesels. And then those puny tires. Which is why I'm eagerly looking forward to TUV300Plus, which will , hopefully, have bigger tires, bigger engine.

It looks a bread-box design which goes to the most popular gym, works out hard and does not have an inch of flab. :P

I am not criticizing the M&M team for a pathetic design on the TUV, but on a overall level I do think that their cars should have similar character lines running inside the family.
If you're going in for clean,fuss-free lines;stick with it, or if you are opting for radical curves, stick to that!

Why no armrest for the middle row, Mahindra?
And the Jeep "inspired"(?) grill looks out of place.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 T10 MT & AMT launched at Rs. 9.75 - 10.65 lakhs

TUV is quite a confused vehicle produced by M&M. They were looking for success similar to XUV, yet the product as such is sub par

- the diesel heart is far from refined, it becomes jerky while climbing uphill (I am not talking about AMT here, its the manual) it could be because of 3 pot mill

- the interiors are sub-par in terms of quality, finish and visual pleasure

- the overall proportions are not nice essentially good to look at - the frontal looks and small tyres to blame here.

As of now TUV could not make a cut in the rural markets the way Bolero was able to give success. May be the new "plus" is able to get the success for the company.

A mistake in the news article. Being corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The TUV300 is a body-on-frame 7-seater UV, whereas the Nexon is a hatchback-based 5-seater monocoque.

No doubt that Mahindra's designs are weird, ugly or both. However, with the TUV300, I find only the side profile strange (because of the length). The front & rear are okay.

Not a runaway success, but not a failure either. The TUV300 sells ~2,200 each month.

I felt that the TUV300's interiors are acceptable for the price. The deal-breakers to me would be the 3-cylinder diesel & bouncy ride quality. Plus, this T10 is way too expensive - 12 lakhs on the road is too much money for a small 3-cylinder UV.

Has Mahindra been able to figure out the AMT ?
