Omelette du fromage!

Hello people!

Just popping up to introduce myself. After multiple attempts, I've finally managed to get into Team-BHP. I know I'm not the only one who has gone through this experience, so cheers to all those who did not quit

Who am I
I'm from Bangalore and my typical day involves working with multiple startups in the form of advisory as well as taking out the time to work on a couple of my own projects.

I am a huge fan of Dexter's Laboratory and hence the handle. I've been part of one of Bangalore's old time Classic Rock / Rock n Roll group; 'Illuminati'. I continue to work on music whenever I get the time. I'm a huge fan of Classic Rock, funk, melodic death metal and DUB.

I presently own a 1.6 TDI VW Vento and I'm proud of it. I've won multiple drag events and one of the recent ones can be found here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3895426

A typical weekend
I love to travel a lot and hence most of the weekends, I take my car and try to explore a new place. I am also blessed to have a friends circle with diverse interests and I love to meet them and learn something new from their domain. I've driven all around India and was fortunate to witness the last F1 at BIC.

Introduction to TeamBHP
I was introduced to Team-BHP by a fellow BHPian, who happens to be a very close friend of mine, most of you might know him as 'Kryptonite'.He got me into the whole car scene and we continue to have our share of tuning/racing adventures, and for that I'm thankful.

My Rides
  • Maruti Suzuki Zen 1996
  • Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 2009-10
  • Ford Figo TDCi - tuned to 90 Hp
  • Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI - tuned to 95 Hp
  • Volkswagen Vento 1.6 TDI - Stage 2+ - ~165 Hp (Present Car)

I'm working on an article detailing my journey to building the ~165 BHp Vento and shall be posting it soon. On a side note, I just picked up the Tata Nano for my wife and I'm looking forward to writing about that too, of course, from a VW owners perspective.

That's all for now folks. Cheers!

Hello sir,

Welcome on board the forum. Have a great start.

Awaiting detailed ownership report of your Vento and the Nano.

So when is Tune-O-Tronics getting hold of your Nano?

Expected jump in power and torque figures from stock?

Yeah right! So far I've been assured a 6 BHp / 6 NM jump. I'll leave it as it is, until I can find a suitable turbo and ECU to do something crazy with it. Long-term plan.

And regarding the 'Omelette du fromage' title, I forgot to mention that I love cooking and I'm a big time foodie.

Whats the logic behind the title? Cheese Omelette?
It is humorous and eye catching for sure.

Re: Omelette du fromage!

Well well well. I sincerely thought this was the new "cooking" advice thread on T-BHP. All I can say is, welcome to this forum. I'm still pretty shaken up by the name though!

Hope you enjoy T-BHP as much as us BHPians do!

It's actually a funny episode on Dexter's Laboratory (the cartoon) where this kid is trying to learn French by listening to an audio cassette. He falls asleep in the process and the cassette gets stuck on the word 'Omlette du fromage' which keeps playing continuously. Next morning, the only word he can speak is Omlette du fromage

If I'm not wrong that is the logic of the title, isn't it dextertuned?

That's all you can say

Welcome, and Do share more about your tuning adventures.

Does the love for old school rock translate to any vintage audio equipment?

I remember that episode pretty well, he keeps repeating that same sentence as a reply for all questions. Sigh, good old times, and before I forget, welcome and enjoy your stay.

Thanks! Not too many. Hard to purchase given their market value. But I do own a 62 strat.

Welcome aboard dextertuned and wish you many happy miles on the forum!
Would love to hear more on your tuning and drag racing exploits.
Nice to know that you're a fellow guitar man. The '62 Strat sounds cool! That's my PRS soapbar SE in my profile pic, by the way!

Re: Omelette du fromage!

I've never met another Dexter's Lab fan for real all my life. I still remember watching all those episodes until I knew the dialogue verbatim, and loved mimicking the accent:

"I'm-a Dexter, boy geeenius!".

Welcome to the forum.

P.S. We've got Creed and cooking in common too, how about that!

Re: Omelette du fromage!

Welcome to the Forum, dextertuned.

For a moment, the title had me thinking of a cooking thread and was looking forward to a lip-smacking recipe

Hope to hear more of your exploits in the days to come.

P.S. RHCP is one of my favourite bands and I am a fan of old-school rock !!
