Baja Sae India 2012- Team Conrods

Its almost after 2 months that i am posting again on the forum. this time its about something that we have been preparing since a very long time. its the BAJA SAE INDIA 2012, going to happen in pitampur, indore in second week of february!

i am a team member of THE CONRODS- the official baja team from SRM university, chennai. its a team of 25 students of which i am working as a fabrication engineer of the vehicle along with my fellow mates.

here, i would actually elaborate more on the design of our previous year vehicle. it was one of the most successful vehicles on the track and also secured the 'GO GREEN' award. it was the lightest vehicle, weighing just 250kgs

here are some pictures of the car that i am posting, and i would soon be updating this thread on the new design of the vehicle. i am sure i will be able to get alot of tips from the gurus on the forum so as to produce an even more efficient and successful vehicle.

Last years Baja Technical Head Mr.Dhabhar is also in this forum, he surely will have good inputs for your team.

Meanwhile, why don't you share how you are proceeding with the design-> prototype-> testing, will be good to know.

here are the technical details of our 2011 vehicle

ENGINE Type 4 stroke, OHV, Lombardini
Displacement 338 cc
Compression ratio 08:01
Max power 8 kW @ 4400 rpm
Max torque 19 Nm @ 3000 rpm

DRIVE TRAIN
Transmission CVT coupled with four speed manual transmission
Gear shift mechanism Sequential gear shift with auto clutch.
Front suspension Double wishbones
Rear suspension Double wishbones

no sir. the engines being provided are briggs & stratton. they have stated dispatching the engines to the teams who cleared the virtual baja.

The CONRODS participated in ASIA PACIFIC AUTOMOBILE CONFERENCE 2011. there we were visited by many reputed people from the industry.

here in the picture we had the ex-CEO of Volkswagen India. he spent almost 20 mins at our stall discussing about what all additions can be done to the vehicle. he appreciated the amount of work we put into the vehicle and the built quality of our vehicle.

Ok, what about the transmission / trans-axles? Alfa transmission is no longer supplied by M&M?

Hey,
No. I graduated from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai in 2010.
I was a part of our Formula Student team for 3 years (Orion Racing).

No more part of the college scene :(
