Serious Trouble

Of late my Victor seems to have got ill,

In the morning the bike starts at the first kick and then stops with the

slightest throttle. This happens for nearly 10 mins .

Then the bike seems to misfire, with tup tup sounds coming out of the silencer,

and

the mileage has dropped helluva lot from 75-80 to about 65-67.

Also at higher speeds the bike ascts as if it lacks petrol in the engine, like its coming to the reserve.

My bike has done 19k km,and all these problems started with the first use

of MOTOGOLD engine oil.

Used to use Valvoline 4T with nooo problems at all.

Is this related to engine oil,or is it that the enigne needs to be decarbonised??

Guys its a request please help.

THe TVS mech says "All this is common with age of bike" BullSh*t...

1) check the genuinity of the Motogold oil that you bought recently.
2) check the sparkplugs...( I personally feel your spark plug is the culprit).
3) check for leaks and rest...

The oil is supplied by the TVS showroom service stations.
My Spark Plug was changed abt 5k ago.
Can you suggest aa good alternative spark plug...like the new performance spark plugs...?
Thanks

I think you have a problem with fuel supply...rust in the fuel tank choking the fuel tap or other. The bike starts at first kick with the fuel already in the carbs, not able to sustain combustion probably because its unable to sustain fuel supply.

Or you've got water in your carbs...

These are the quick wins. Obviously you need to take your bike to a good mechanic who can pinpoint the problem with a proper inspection - it could be the electrics but none of us can give you the right answer thru virtual circumspection.

Well""Getting a guud mech"" is the problem now.
I am in a stupid town/city or whatever and this place is ILLITERATE whn it comes to
biking, they don't even know there is a liquid that could decarbonise the enigine.
Am waiting to go to HYD and hence I posted the mesg."Any guud Mech in HYD"
Shall take my bike to him.
But I just needed views so that I could pinpoint to the mech. to look into those areas of
possible trouble.
Thanks Guys..keep replying

Fuel Tap and Carbs are things you can look into yourselves. You need a basic toolkit and it doesnt require rocket science to figure out whether the tap is clogged or the carbs have water...thats why I called these quick wins.

Check the basics out yourselves before going to a mech.

hellmet, there is every probability that the carbeurettor is malfunctioning or its a tuning issue. Get the carb checked, the jets, float, needle and all...Also, see if you or other users of the bike have filled gas from some stupid pump...

Steeroid mention water in the carb but that shouldnt be the problem as I understand that the problem has been there for a while now.
