Road Tax is levied on the price of vehicle since 1995, and before 1993 it was levied on the weight of the vehicle. MV Act are revised in 1995 and the rule on which they are asking for Road Tax is void.
Mine has a rubber stamp on it - but as I said, it could have been created by anyone willing to pay 15 rupees. The guy gave me a mobile number which aparently belongs to the RTO, Balasore - I called that number and spoke to some guy claiming to be the RTO - but I'm not sure if he really was. It is highly possible (and likely) that the entire thing is a scam.
The problem is - this won't be resolved here. Someone needs to move. Can we do it collectively?
