Hi,
I am planning on going to Tiptur, Tumkur Dist., from Hyderabad.
Can you please guide me about the road conditions from Dodaballapur to Tiptur, as also the good hotels to stay in Tiptur or in Tumkur.
Actually, my desire is to visit the Chowdeshwari temple in Tiptur and I shall be thankful if you can give me some info on the temple, too.

This is the best route:
Doddaballapur-Dobbspet-Tumkur-Gubbi-Tiptur

Doddaballapur to Dobbspet, road is new and in excellent condition
You reach the Bangalore-Pune highway at Dobbspet, about 8-10 kms before the six lane toll road ends.

Tumkur would be your best option for stay, Hotel Shree Nanjundeshwara is a trusted and old name in Tumkur, there may be a few new ones, but this one has been there a long time.

No good places in Tiptur, you can easily drive down to Tiptur from Tumkur, time taken would be less than 2 hrs.

Temple timings are usually from 6.30 am to 12 noon, and opens again around 3.30 in the afternoon.

Is the woodlands a part of the Bangalore's woodlands group? If yes, then would that be a better place to stay?

No, I reside in Bangalore, but I did my engineering long ago in Tumkur.

No again, it is not part of the Woodlands Group and I would advise you to stay away from the place, as it was not a "respected" place to stay with family.
Don't get misled by the name.
Nanjundeshwara is an old and respected name in Tumkur, nothing fancy but it is decent enough. Don't know about the third place, just dug it out from the www.

We did try adding a '2' to the old #.
Couldn't get through to them because of language problem, I guess.
