2002 city or lancer(p)

I wanted to buy 2002 honda city or lancer(p)
getting it for around 3.5- 4 lacs
which one is the better choice?
i want good fuel efficiency and less maintenance costs

According to me honda city would be a better choice
a 1.5l would make a good sense ...make sure you buy a good vehicle and you will never regret ... a good drivable one ...
i don't want to mention anything about fuel economy as it depends on driving conditions.... but maintenance costs are low for a honda and usually a good dealership backup is there for it....

u can also see in this forum that there are numerous fans for the honda OHC

there is no doubt u go in for the Honda city! the Lancer is very heavy now on maintenance! it was a nice car lost in the battle of newer and better cars. The honda city 1.5l is the best choice, nice mileage and lovely pickup!

3.5lac for 2002 lancer? wow! If you are gonna mod the car heavily,Lancer it should be

The two options would be favorable for two instances.If you are going to do the modification lancer would be the best option,
If you are going to use the vehicle as it is city would be prefferd

Its not a new car he is talking about. The best examples of lancers according to most people here on team-bhp are 2002 or before. At the same time the best examples of honda city's would be the new look ones that debuted around 2001-2002 coz old ones would be ripped by wannabes minus the facelift.

look for either with whatever mileage or year, there is bound to be no difference between the two. Honda city gains on power while lancer gains on handling and both are equally reliable and fun to drive.
