My brother gave me this info .It seems the Leela palace on Airport road is auctioning their 3 series beemers.Not too sure about the reserve but it should be well under 13 lakhs.
Thats the news if anyone is interested.Do confirm it.
I thought they had only 7 series, yellow plates? What year 3 series is this?
They are around 2003, they are 316i 's. Most of them would have been used for short journeys to HAL airport. They only have 2 7 series. One old 730 and one recent 730d.

How does it work when you buy a yellow plate. Do you need to convert it?
YOu can cancel the taxi permit & avail the NOC by the hotel. Then you can transfer it to your name. I had bought an E-class from Taj Mumbai some three years back & did the same.
is it really that easy or is it a painful process. When is the auction by the way?

They are 316i ? How much power does that have anyways?
Would be a shame to see a beemer getting smoked by swifts and i10's :p

If ment the transfer process, then its not tough job. If you get a good agent, then it'll be more easy.

The approx cost for cancelling taxi permit & tranfering will be around 5-7K. But some hotel may even cancel the axi permit before they sell, as the permit will be on their name, there is chances for mis-using the cars.
oh lets hope for that then, anyways any confirmed details on the price, or can someone send the me the no. of the person in cahrge for this in Leela?
