Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

Harley-Davidson has slashed the price of the Street 750 by Rs. 65,000. The bike is now priced at Rs. 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Vivid Black colour option. Other colours including two-tone finishes cost Rs. 12,000 more.

The Street 750 is powered by a BS6-compliant 749cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that produces 59 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a telescopic fork suspension at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It comes with disc brakes at both ends and has dual-channel ABS.

In April 2020, Harley-Davidson had also offered a Rs. 75,000 discount on the 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Street 750. While it used the same 749cc engine, it came with a premium medallion and special graphics. Only 300 units of the 10th Anniversary Edition were produced.

Wow pretty good offer. Though thanks to the Interceptor 650 it's a bit hard to recommended this open air oven of a bike to anyone. Wish they reduced the price of the Street rod as well. The Street rod is the bike the HD street should have been.

Re: Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

Going by the news of Harley India in trouble, isn't this a kind of fire sale? Are they planning to pack bags? I would love to know more on this.

I was quite keen on buying a superbike in 2018 but it didn't panned as planned. I will be on lookout again once Covid-19 subsides. CBR 650R is number one contender for now.

Re: Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

I don't think this is a fire sale. They said they are scaling down operations not quitting the market altogether. They are probably trying to get more people into the brand which means possibly more apparel sales, accessories sales and more which have high margins.

The Honda 650R is a fantastic choice. Super smooth engine, cheap spares (for bikes in its class) and Japanese reliability. Only issue is waiting for Honda to wake up and launch the bike.

Re: Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

Over 6 years back, the Street 750 was launched at 4.10 lakhs. If we consider inflation, the motorcycle is cheaper today than at the time of launch . What a reversal of fortunes for Harley India. IMHO, they have also suffered from a leadership crisis at the top.

Re: Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

This is a good move by Harley Davidson. The Street 750 is their best selling model in India and in the last year, only the Asia Pacific market showed growth for the company. With the Covid pandemic and lack of BS6 models from all companies, big bike sales have slowed down considerably and any push from the company side is a welcome move.

That said, existing owners who are trying to sell their Street 750 will not be amused by this price cut. There are tons of Harleys listed for sale on Olx and asking prices have been steadily dropping. This company driven price cut will make things worse for those owners.

Re: Harley-Davidson Street 750 prices slashed by Rs. 65,000

I inquired for details on HD Street 750 here in Pune(Two Rivers HD).
They still quote the ex-showroom price as INR 546000.
Also, RTO charges are 94000. Isn't this insane? Since HD Street is made in India and not just assembled, what is the Road tax percentage on ex-showroom price, Pune? Can someone confirm if it's 12%?

They are giving 60K discount on OTR.

As per BikeDekho website, RTO is somewhere around 56K on ex showroom 469000.

Got below quotation from Pune HD dealer.

I took a test drive of HD Street 750 today. As per my discussion with them and above information, there is no reduction in Ex-showroom price of HD Street 750. They are just giving a discount of 60K on OTR.

Below is for HD Street Rod.

The price cut by Harley itself is around 77k on ex-showroom, which means more discount OTR. Dealership is just trying to mint money. Here is the link to official Harley post on insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/CDijN09H...=1s7l2iaglfh8k

Show them this link and if they refuse, write a mail to company.

If they still don't agree, tell them goodbye.

Below was my conversation regarding the price discrepancy. Even I verified the price with image they shared on their twitter handle as well as the price on website.

I am anyways not gonna consider Street 750 since it doesn't offer that much extra over GT650. Brand Value kept aside. Engine though peppy isn't refined. MRF tires just doesn't looks/feels good after paying ex showroom 469000(if they agree).

Moreover, the news of trimming operations/exiting India doesn't gives much comfort either.

IMO its a good decision. The Int 650 just destroys the value proposition of the Harley Street as its a refined motor and performance between the two are very similar. The HD Street makes sense if you get a good used deal as you can then swap the tires to some better rubber without breaking the bank.

Since you live in Pune you shouldn't worry too much about the brand as they will said they are only pairing down operations not completely stopping operations. So big cities like Mumbai Delhi should definitely be covered in future.

I am one of those that firmly believes the bike should speak to you when you ride it so judging from your feedback I feel you should look elsewhere. I bought my old FZ16 only because I really connected to the bike when I rode it. I tried a ton of other bikes that were high on my list due to specs but somehow none of them appealed to me much. Since you have a good budget you should only buy something if you really like it.
