First superbike ride..the Suzuki GSXR 1000!!

hey guys..
You all must be knowin the new TBHP member Zubikar who owns a very cool Suzuki GSXR 1000. Well, i did manage to catch up with him yesterday for a small TBHP meet if i can call it , despite his busy schedule and finally got to see the monster at his place.

It was arnd 5pm wn i went over to his house, and the first thing i see is the Suzuki completely covered in black in the garage. By then time he came out and we got to kno each other, some chit-chat. So we walked to the garage and he took the cover and what i see is a brand new 2005(?) GSXR 1000. He took it out and started her up, revved her almost to 10k which was really damn loud and sounded like heaven. He's got a few aftermarket stuff like some carbon fibre stuff here and there..And after somemore time of admiring the beauty, we finally went for a spin in the city. The acceleration was just mind-blowing, unlike anyting i've ever seen or been on. He just went a bit hard on the throttle and in no time, we crossed 60kmph mark. The attention the bike got was just way too much. After clearing the traffic, got some clear road and went all the way upto abt 90-100kmph mark. It was just so quick its amazing. Taking corners was a breeze with the HUGE aftermarket Pirelli tyres. And then after somemore time enjoying the speed, we got back to his place. I did manage to get a few pix, but they arn't that clear as it was already 6pm and was getting dark. I'll try to get a few better pix in a few days time..till then enjoy these!!!

And Zubin, a big thanks for the ride..

ME on the Bike

u're talking about 60kph, 90-100kph on a Gixxer 1000. Dude, u ought to be speaking 150,200 kph on a SBK. U havent experienced anything on the Gixxer then.

Anyways, its good to hear u had real good fun. Keep revving .

Nice account of your first ride on an SBK dude. Must have been the ride of your life. My brother generally goes pillion on these bikes and the ride of his life so far has been on the Busa and the Yamaha Thunderace 1000 at 200 kph on Marine Drive in Mumbai at 2 AM in the night. Me, well I'm just a spectator

Cool ! I'm really scared to ride pillion on superbike. Feels like sitting on top of a tower. More scary when the rider leans for a turn.

Gixxers are great bikes!!! The bike in those pics is not an 05' model...they have the rear turn signals intergrated into the rear fairings and a very different looking exhaust. Took an 06' 1000 for a test ride a few weeks back and was very impressed...100kph is nothing really on that bike.....hell my 7 year old 600 does more in first gear!!!

can u shed some light on these direct imports??? well we had this earlier thread too...about how these hitngs r shelved off the customs before hand and then routed to malaysia thorugh mauratius to escape the taxation. finally they end up in chennai or mumbai ports...there aint no 2004 gixars in mint new comdition. this one i suspect had been through the trafficked route.
ps. why register if the bike in blore if u r in kerala????

Tax benefits. Not so strict RTOs who accept bribes for registering SBKs easily.
In chennai, 99% of the imports are KA regd for the above reason. Moreover, KA registered bikes can be sold easily to other state customers.
