LPG (or CNG) Vs Petrol Analysis Before Installing the Kit.

Hi All,

If you want to install any LPG CNG kit in your car to save money, you might analysis before going with your decision.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...prTWc&hl=en_GB

Inputs are welcome.

You can play with values in column F. Please do not modify any other values.

This is also useful if you want to decide whether to go in for petrol or diesel.
Instead of LPG kit cost, enter initial diesel cost (eg 70,000 or so). Enter diesel FE as say 20kmpl etc and continue.

Looks like you want to convince yourself before switching over to LPG.

The details in the spreadsheet and the poll depends on which car LPG kit is being used. The savings and teh FE drop all depends on that, you should add that also in the sheet otherwise there will be varying figures from people which will get one puzzled.

OT, why Ford and Fiat? only because they start with F?

Want to share my experience >> slightly off topic

I had used LPG kit in my MATIZ and then Followed by ZEN then I switched to CNG for my Accent Petrol and the cost of running was amazing but after clocking several thousands kms on CNG my car starts giving trouble in engine and other components Hence I replaced it with New Honda and now I am again in the same Dilemma that weather I should go for CNG kit Installation or not.

Although my City is giving me an exceptional Mileage to me 16+ but still my fuel expense is 10K+ per month and if I would Install a CNG kit in my new vehicle then it dos not make any sense. So I have decided to wait for a while may be a 1Lac kms or so.

So the moral of my experience is CNG/LPG Conversion can help you to save monthly but in a longer run the maintenance cost of the vehicle will be much higher. (Cuz in my case it was)

Yes, I would like to analyse properly and ensure that LPG/CNG/Diesel does make sense if for same car model, your initial payment (in terms of kit or car value) is more.

I will not add the kit details, cos people would be buying various types of kits.
To get a realistic picture, data cannot be fine tuned for a particular kit model.

The signature was created when Ford n Fiat were at their product and A$$ worst.
I wont say they are the best or worst now. But the 1st impression is almost always the last impression.

I wanted to delete *THIS* particular post (not any other post or thread) since it was a duplicate of above post. But its not giving any delete option. Button says edit/delete. But how to delete?
So edited the post with the explanation.
