shifting without clutch

i have seen drivers of commercial vehicles(buses) changing gears without depressing the clutch. it causes no sound or any jerk...
is it possible to do that or is it a fault

well you can do it only if your at the right rpm.........if not ur screwing your gear box....correct me if im wrong here...

i guess coz in commercial vehicles, the rpm is quite low..
shiftin w/o clutch in a car wud require practice.. its all about shifting at the right rpm..

Some commercial vehicles are semi automatic. I know that some buses in the UK have manual type gearboxes but no clutch.
