Booked an Indica Turbo DLG!!

Hi guys,

After much deliberation (I payed the advance and cancelled the booking for a Scorpio and an Indigo), I decided to buy the Indica Turbo DLG. I chose the white colour and got a 7k discount on the car from Concorde, Velachery. On road 4.38 L.

Reasons:

Dead Cheap
Good FE expected
Decent Space
I plan to go abroad in a years time so buying a SUV doesnt make sense

what I need from you guys is

DO I GO AHEAD WITH THE CAR OR IS THERE ANY REASON TO CANCELL THE BOOKING? PLEEEEEEEEEEDE ADVICE !!

Do you know if in Chennai you get better discounts in any other dealer?

Go ahead - I don't see any reason for you to cancel your booking. Concorde is known for this 7K discount. If you push harder, you could get more but probably only if you opt for finance.

Hi Rayden,

From what I have been reading on these forums (users' experiences), I would stay *away* (read "far away") from all TATA cars.

Just two of the many threads that I read...

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/8043-protest-against-tata-motors.html

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/13779-who-s-callous-company-dealer.html

Do think about it.

Go ahead bro......no need to give second thoughts to this decision..

I own the car myself and am extremely happy with all aspects of the car.

For this price its very tough to find a worthy diesel competitor.

go ahead with the DLG turbo

I own a tata car.

Make - DLX turbo - March '06 - 2800 kms - 16 kpl - overall - 80 % city - 20 % highway.
Cost : 4.25 L - pune.

I feel this is very good value for money. The car is spacious and is rock solid at 120 kms.
With 14 inch tyres - you feel safe at high speeds.

So don't worry - go for it. Take care of this diesel car and it will take care of you. !!

I own a decade old Sumo. I'm very much happy with it. I'll always stay *near* (read "very near") to TATA cars.
If someone can afford a ferrari, he won't just bad-mouth Porsche.
Get my drift??

I have the music player which came fitted with the car. Sorry do not remember the make since I hardly use it (I am not much of a music freek while driving) and so remove the head and keep it at home. The dealer here offered a buy back option of Rs 2500 in case I went in for Blaupaunkt or Pioneer.

But I feel that this OEM player is good enough for simple FM Radio mirchi style music.

Rayden,
Indica is a much better car than many of its rivals, and it is a proven diesel car.
i don't see anything to suggest you for cancellation of booking!

Just remember couple of things that avoid buying stereo and other accessories from car-dealers.
also, do make sure that unit you are getting is not a vehicle used in test-drives!
you can search for many threads here on T-Bhp regarding the same.

also, before finalising the deal, have a test-drive of car to be delivered to you, even if this means a wait of couple of hours!

i hope it helps.

What kind of FE can I expect? Some owners say 12-13 in city others say 17-18 in city. How come such a large variation?

Does Indica TC DLS give more mileage than TC DLG\DLX?
