My weekend drive to Sakleshpur

last weekend i had a chance to drive to a resort in Sakleshpur, i had a inagural invite from the resort & hence grabbed the chance to explore nature around Saklespur.

THE RESORT

Me and my friends started from Bangalore at 10am on saturday. We drove on Mangalore highway and took right turn towards Hanbal near Anemahal at sakleshpur. 25 kms from here to the resort was scenic, midst of the nature. We travelled exactly 272kms from my place & took 5hrs 30 mins with two breaks..

After settling down at the cottages, before sunset we played a game of vollery ball. Then we had camp fire and a nice dinner.

Next day morning had a trek to nearby hill and coffee estate.felt nice to be in the lap of beatuiful nature..after that we had nice breakfast, akki roti & malnad kadabu..a taste of local food...

After that we went around the resort to a nearby small stream & also saw the place where hydro electricity power generation was being done.. this definetly eco friendly means of using electricity in the resort...

then we had lunch & headed back to bangalore ...Enjoyed the whole stay..

Is this resort owned by someone you know ? Does it have a website ? And what are the tariffs like ? And if no website, how do you book ? How many cottages available and how was the food ? Whew, run out of questions now !

Yes, one of my friend knew the resort owner, so got an inagural offer which looks like was at the cost price. I cannot quote the price as it was through my friends referral, we got the inagural offer. Their sales team can be reached at 9880305092/9945179950. I feel their website was still under construction - www.jenukallu.com

There were 4 cottages and each cottage had one king size bed and they were big enough to accomodate 3-4 people. Food was homely and we all liked it very much and it was good to taste the malnad style.

Will post more pictures tomorrow

@kannan666, i hope you are enjoying these photos...

@snaronikar, to make it more clear for you, from bangalore head towards Nelmangala through nice road, take a deviation towards mangalore road, drive past hassan & you reach saklespur, from there you need to take a right turn at Anemahal bus stop which takes you to Hanbal, drive past it & ask for this resort & you are there..

@akroy,..ya, resort is located in a nice place, & it is more than a decent place to spend time...

@ snaronikar, you can trek upto JENUKallu gudda, its a nice place & i have heard there is a lake on the other side of it, seems to be a good location, the trek is some 12kms from this place.. you can go & camp there overnight & comeback.. next time i visit this resort i am promised this trek..
& also i must say entire Saklespur is blessed with great nature, its great to visit all round the year...

@ sushrutha ...no i don't work for Q-soft...

new website for the resort

The site www.jenukallu.com is now giving an error, the new link for the resort webpage is Jenukallu Valley Retreat - Abode of nature . Looks like a super nice retreat near sakleshpur. We are planning a visit soon. One of the resort's owners is my friend's relative, and they vouch that the place deserves a visit.

The Resort landlord have a good taste. Love the way the furniture was made with the country wood. He seems to be more innovative in using Hydro-electricity.

Any more pics?

Certainly, they do have a good taste.
Furniture is made by coffee stem. In that part of world, when it rains, it rains cats and dogs & one has to be ready for the power outage during monsoons. So a hydro electricty is a good thing to have in the resort.
