Big shoutout to khan_sultan for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

The interior is identical to the Ionic Electric, except it gets a conventional shift lever instead of buttons. The dashboard has blue accents on the air-conditioning vents, centre console and seats:

It has a foot-operated parking brake. Also note that it comes with a knee airbag:

The traction control switch and a button to turn off the blind spot monitor is placed next to the steering wheel:

Rear doors open wide:

Here's a look at the 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 104 BHP @ 7,500 rpm. It comes paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission:

Re: Hyundai Ioniq @ Auto Expo 2018

Ioniq is giving the Prius serious competition worldwide and I hope Hyundai launch it here to continue the trend. However - at those prices, it would only be another brand building exercise.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq @ Auto Expo 2018

Tushar K, many thanks for the photos and the data. My next car change slated for around 2019 or 2020 will be an all-electric or plug-in hybrid. When serious players (in the Indian context) like Hyundai, Maruti & Mahindra are looking at the 'e' factor we know it is only a question of time.

India-Bound Hyundai Ioniq Facelift Spied For The First Time

Quote:
Hyundai Ioniq comes with revised front and rear with a battery pack from Kona, which offers better range than the current battery pack

Hyundai officially revealed Ioniq hybrid model in 2016 and later the company expanded the model lineup with plug-in hybrid and a pure electric version also. The company is currently working on a facelift model and the test mule has been spotted for the first time in South Korea with heavily covered front and rear.

The front gets a new grille and an updated bumper along with LED headlamps even though the cluster might be retained from the current model. The facelift model gets a new set of fog lamps with LED light instead of a regular bulb and it might come with cornering lamps also. The side design is the same but the alloy wheels will be new.

The rear will also come with a new bumper and new LED tail lamps. But the interior is still under the cover and we can expect Hyundai to make some changes for the dashboard to make it inline with other models. The instrument cluster might also get an update and the Ioniq will be loaded with lots of feature and advanced safety features.

But the biggest changes are expected to be under the hood as the electric motor could be replaced by the one available on Kona EV and this electric motor produces 120 PS of power and 295 Nm of torque, which is connected to a 28 kWh battery pack and the claimed range is 280 km. The Kona comes with two different battery pack.

The powerful 64 kWh battery pack produces 201 hp of power and 395 Nm of torque. According to Hyundai, the range is 546 km which could vary depending on various conditions. The smaller 39.2 kWh battery pack comes with 136 PS and 395 Nm, but the range is 345 km and it might not be offered with Ioniq.

Hyundai is already offering fast charging with Ioniq as it takes just 23 minutes to charge the battery to 80 per cent but it will take more than 12 hours using a standard household socket. We are not expecting Ioniq to be introduced in India as the company is planning to launch the Kona next year in India.
