This is current variant, no changes.

I think there is a facelift in pipeline so better to wait. Obviously we never know what is in store.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

No news on Mahindra's upcoming MPV (Innova Competitor) ? This is huge opportunity for Mahindra to launch and gather valuable feedback. Are they going to launch it or they just skipped it ? If skipped, then its very sad :(

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

Sad looking fare from Mahindra. They must have decided to participate rather late in the day and just hacked into it. The Thar customisation doesn't bring any laurels to Mahindra. Even the label looks cheap! In the 10 years they pipped the Tatas to set some exciting benchmarks and sales, looks like the steam seems to be tapering! I am no great fan of their quirky designs, at least the earlier ones had pizazz, both the Scorpio (I still like their first version) and the XUV. The rest seem to be some poor Korean Kitsch design-inspirations! Come on Mr. Mahindra, make us proud! Breathe some new life into design!

The Electric ATOM is very similar to the Bajaj Cute that was scuttled due to a law suit.. Wondering if the Atom was the reason...

The UDO is terrifying. People will cram entire families into it and then drive it as if it is a bike

The auto? It's never going to be a safe vehicle, but can't they take care of simple stuff like not having screws and sheet-metal edges pointing at the passengers?

Wonder whatever happened to the Mahindra XUV Aero?

May be they should put a sensor like in the building elevators. If the weight is above a certain average the vehicle should not start. Else as you rightly put, it would be Chunnu, Munnu, Munni, Mummy aur Pappa di gaddi...

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

Really liked the design of Stinger Concept! The front appears smarter in comparison to present design of TUV 300. Square steering wheel and vertically mounted touch screen are innovative and add some “oomph” factor to conventional layout. The cabin appears plush and well appointed.

The front design resembles more to European taste! Although I am not sure whether Mahindra would put this concept in regular production; it would be interesting, if Mahindra adopts this clean design to improve the bulky appearance of next gen TUV 300.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

Off-late, awkward is the word that one has come to associate with Mahindra designs and that is proven to be true once again in this years Auto Expo.

The modified Thar looks weird - the front grill resembles a face that is startled and the less said about the tail lamps the better . I somehow get a feeling that are designers are trying too hard to impress by going for some radical designs but sometimes the real beauty lies in simplicity!

My eyes,My eyes!!!Kill that Thar before it lays eggs.
They have managed to outdo DC design on the Thar in the weird and wacky department. The previous daybreak edition was sort of digestible even though impractical.
The KUV looks like it was sponsored by the bloat tool department of Photoshop.
As rightly said earlier, Mahindra needs to keep it simple .

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

More than eleven current models. Add the Reva, the (Mahindra) Rexton, the new MPV.

That's more than fourteen different takes on Mahindra's grille

And barring the new Rexton and Thar, I find the rest downright ugly.

There must be different opinions on whether there should be a single grille theme for a manufacturer.

I like the uniformity, the way Kia has been doing in the recent years. Their tiger nose seem to fit everywhere from the Rio to the Stinger, even the Sorento and it looks lovely on every car.

Mahindra's current designs, if not bad, they are polarising, for sure. You either love them or you don't.

Maybe they can't see what we see. There is a saying in hindi. "Apna bachha sabko sundar lagta hai." Which means, one always find their owns kids the most beautiful kids in the world.

Mahindra needs to do something about their designs and quick.

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

If the modified Thar parked in the Mahindra Pavillion qualifies in the Weird Modification section, the other Thar which is parked in the next Pavillion deserves a Thumbs Up . Looks awesome This one is from DC

It does indeed look awesome, and so it should - coming from the DC stable! What remains a mystery is what Pininfarina (currently M&M's in-house design studio) was doing at the time that DC was getting the Thar ready! It begins to look as if the Italian design studio has turned out to be a lemon in M&M's basket.

You have to see the Mahindra exhibits for real to see the shoddy workmanship and the overwhelmingly jugaad nature of their 'creations' - and I'm not even talking about that horrible Thar exhibit that makes one wince.

Electric vehicles were the flavor of this AutoExpo and one would expect the company that owns the original electric vehicle manufacturer from India (even if they were Golf Carts with fiberglass bodies stuck on with industrial adhesive) to put on a real show.

Instead you had a series of tacky creations - the less said about that e2o monstrosity, the better. It had cheap white rexine ("leather like") upholstery that was badly stitched by a blind tailor, with bits and pieces coming off within about an hour of the show being inaugurated.

All this, parked in a stall that was bathed in cheap blue light like one of those seedy pick-up joints shown in movies.

Then you had their 'electric bus' with interiors like these. Just look at the 'workmanship'. Those switches are so pathetic, and the less said about the parking brake, the better:

Re: Mahindra @ Auto Expo 2018

The UDO is very narrow and gets a honeybee hive pattern logo at the front, small wraparound headlamps and small motorcycle wheels:

Honeybee hive pattern looks like inspired by TATA's Tiago styling somehow ?

Maybe the inspiration for this was the ridiculous-but-enduring fashion of buying jeans which already gave holes worn in them!
