Off-road in Chennai 2012 : Thunder down under

Hi Guys,

The next OTR is a one day trip.

This OTR will serve as a preparatory trip before the Bangalore Annual OTR.

Please Check & Carry the following.
1) Toolkit.
2) First Aid Kit.
3) 2 Tow Straps & 4 D-Shackles.
5) Ground Mat/Sheet.
6) Running Spares. (Fan Belt/Hoses/Axles/Prop-Shafts/Leaf Springs)

Itinerary 16 Jan 2012
0730 - Tidel Park
1000 - Adventure Zone
1100 - Lake Side OTR
1300 - Lunch
1500 - Drive Back.

Guys: Pre Bangalore "Avala" "konda" OTR on Jan 14 2012 reporting time at AZ is 11:00 hrs

OTR is 11:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs and vehicles will be scrutinized for essentials as stated herein.

Please report to AZ by 11:00 hrs sharp!!

Yeah -

Checklist for passengers:

1. Physical fitness - good shoes and loose clothes that help you breathe better.
2. Ability to run
3. Ability to spot correctly for the driver
4. Understand offroad trails or keep mouth shut rather than scare the driver

5. Understand fitment points of tow cables and how to use a damper with the tow straps!
6. Get down before each and every obstacle and spot / guide the driver through the obstacle.

And the specific ones if you are vishnu's passenger - we will share offline

Need help here. This is my first on the ground OTR. I only have reading and viewing experience.

Choose to keep my mouth shut AND learn offroad trails.

Can do. I will not tell him how to drive but I can say what I see on the path.

Hmmm. Curious!!! As long as it is something that will not change my decision to accompany Vishnu, this is fine

Welcome - You will understand and enjoy quote a few things during the OTR. Vishnu is the best person to teach you his vehicle's tow points

Dont worry Shyam i'm harmless! No idea what "Uncle" is on about

Im seeing Raghav first thing tomorrow morning to get my fuel tank skid plate cut a little bit to prevent that horrible sound of the U joint grinding against it. Should be ready for the 14th OTR. Looking forward to another great outing!

I got my Fuel Tank skid plate cut where it was scraping the propshaft yesterday. So no more horrible grinding sounds!

OE solid steel powder coated skid plate bolted to the chassis. It was too strong to even bend so we had to cut it. No pics though sorry.

Guys were thought how to setup a winch and how to recoil the winch rope PROPERLY!!

Hello Terra Tigers!

Well, it was the first time I came face to face with these beasts, the men behind them and the challenges they both can overcome together. I was finally able to make it to an OTR after missing a few. I did have to wait a little longer, but what's with a few more hours when I've waited for an entire year! The entire wait was well worth, I'd say!

Thanks to Arka, Vikram, Lokesh and many others for allowing me and my brother (not a member here but often visits the site as a guest) experience a day that we would never forget!

I'll try to cover as much as possible through the snaps and videos. So here it goes guys!
