To be very frank ; I have seen lot many pics of you & your jeep doing its ' routines ' at various OTRs . I was & am actually hoping to hop in your jeep at some OTR & watch your driving & learn from it or be on foot & click pics . Please give me that chance .

BTW , do you think the Thar's soft front can be used as a plus point along with its brute take off ( compared to oldies ) ?? you know how they do in motocross bikes ? they use the bounce to achieve the climb effect , will it be possible with Thar ?

Sudarshan
Arrey sir,
It would be my pleasure to have you as co-driver during OTR. Remember our last OTR together in Tamhini on 22nd April 2011, it was fun. We should plan private OTR to any discreet place you know enough of these places) with only 3-4 jeeps, will be good to catch up as well.
Coming back to topic of IFS of Thar, I have ridden motocross bike few times and I feel that both are different ball game altogether. Yes, you can gun your Thar to incline using 120 horses on tap but that might result into damage. Nowadays even MTBs have feature to lock front suspensions to avoid extra effort taken to climb.

Re: 2012-13 Mahindra Offroad Trophy

Thank you Shubehendra for taking so much time and giving a detailed write up of the event. I am glad 28 best off-roaders from the country truly loved it. Obstacles were unique and evaluation system fair, unlike anything else people have seen before. This is special because veteran off -roaders who have seen & conducted other immaculate off road events had words of praise for us and called it unparalleled! Thank you guys! As there is scope for improvement in every event, we too will not rest on our laurels and work on further tweaking the event making it irresistible!

I congratulate Kurian Kurian for putting up a great show. The competition was very tough. The first runner up Lokinder singh and the second runner up Shubhendra were very close. See the score sheet. Special word of applause to Dushyant Khosla who won the Sprint trophy by becoming the fastest man on the wheel on a technical track.

Its not just the drivers, the Thar CRDe's that were put on duty had to go under continuous hammering, proved there mettle by not having even a single major breakdown on the track. Sure there were 2 hub lock failures but were attended immediately. These vehicles were not new and had already undergone torture test on great escapes for past 2 years under various hands and had on an average 40,000 kms on the odo. The video shows it all.

So, thank you all who showed so much of enthusiasm and sportsmanship in the event and for having faith in us. Great Escapes have evolved ever since Mahindra Adventure was coined, trust me it will be even better going forward as we have some great plans in store for Season 3. Till then happy Tharring!

Vinod, could you shed some light on the "wild card" entries. Is there any criteria behind those selections or is it a lucky draw kinda stuff.

L5 performance, Expectations Surpassed !

Spike,
Wild card is the fourth person in the point tally system. Not based on lucky draw. It is essentially 'Good' or G :-)

Re: 2012-13 Mahindra Offroad Trophy

Dear Vinod and Pratheesh - this is not fair! Why do you have to drag "ES / G" into something so wonderful as an offroading competition? We know what we are, we know what vehicle we have made! If we had not done what we did, the vehicle would not have seen light of day! Cool, isn't it?

ES / S / G / MI / U / ** /? What a joke! HaHaHa!

. / .

I can't stop laughing. Thanks guys for making me laugh hilariously!

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar
