Mahindra 'Live Young, Live Free' Offroad Drive. Chennai on 28th June 2014

Hi Guys,

Mahindra & Mahindra with the Terratigers have started the "Mahindra Live Young, Live Free" Off Road Drive for 4x4 Mahindra SUVs.

M&M plans to use this initiative to give their SUV owners a regular off-road calendar with the regional off-road clubs/teams like BODA, NIOC, Gerrari Off-Roaders, Pune Pathfinders etc.

This will help 4x4 Mahindra SUV owners to get better prepared for the MGE and Mahindra Off-Road Challenge.

The Terratigers are proud to start this program in Chennai on 28th June 2014.

So here we off-road again after 4 long years!

We realise the importance of clubs and their effort to popularise the sport. Through Great Escapes we could reach only certain geography & have limited frequency. Off-road drives like these aim to improve bonding and helps owners being a part of a community that is so special.

Its a good opportunity for THAR & Scorpio 4wd owners to get to know each other, exchange numbers, gain expertise on modifications, do's & dont's and above all explore the capabilities of vehicle & self. Very similar to private off-road excursions, the difference is that you will be under watchful eye & guidance of Arka & the team of marshals.

I started my journey with a similar drive in Chennai few years ago. May be someone's drive is just about to begin. Looking forward!

Hi Arka

Was a memorable and well organised event by the Terra Tigers !

Some points that were noteworthy

1. The group's internal briefing was extrmely pro !
2. The terrain threw many surprises as it was constantly changing on the drive !! - Nice selection of the location. However, it would have been nice if there was slush as well.
3. At EOD, I could list out the modifications that had to be done on the Bolero so that I can tackle future obstacles without denting the sump !!
4. Unlimited TATA Gluco+ kept us hydrated throughout the day ! Also, the cleanliness followed by the tigers commands a huge applause.
5. Scrumpious and neatly packed lunch.
6. My navigator (i'm not sure what the technical name is) Mr.Arun did a splendid job of guiding me through the obstacles and also in teaching me a couple of tricks like when to hit the accelerator in a "wham-wham-wham" pattern and also the trick of maintaing momentum to avoid getting stuck!!

After landing on my crank case even before approaching the OTR site, I lost all confidence and was hesistant in participating. But the way you winched me out and your team's quick check as to whether the bolero was road worthy or not helped me gain confidence in the whole event !

Whenever the next event is, do count me and the bolero in !!
