Off Road Adventure - Apr 7th, Chennai

Hi all,

Headers, our very own member owns a CJ3B Jeep (if i am not wrong) and invited Nitrous and me to an Off road event a little further from the Chennai Trade Center on Sat.

I had a lot of fun, though initially i freaked out. This was my first time on a 4x4 adventure and i enjoyed myself.

2 gypsies and 2 jeeps made it and boy, as dusk fell i could see how tough things were getting. Headers had to pull out a gypsy from a ditch twice. One wrong move and it would have landed into the tank (water tank).

Vivek, another experienced offroader amazed me with his skills by taking an incline with almost no effort making it look like childs play. Headers had attempted the same thrice but had to give up. (this particular climb was not easy, required lot of concentration and skill). Once the jeep almost tipped over too.

Headers was great at the wheel too... i was amazed at the sheer skill he possessed and the ease at which he can switch driving styles from his silent killer (accent crdi) to the jungle beast (the jeep).

I was worn out at the end of the day with a bruised knee (when i was climbing into a moving jeep i grazed my knee on the spare fuel can) and a sore lower back.

Back into my comfy esteem now.

Will leave Nitrous and headers and the rest to share the remaining.

Thanks moralfibre. Thats all i managed to shoot. Was too busy clinging on to the rollbar for dear life.

I'm kinda curious - where in Nandambakkam did you guys go offroading? Is this near IDPL? I'm closeby, at Manapakkam.
