GTO's Plan - Possible Dates

Hi Guys,

Looks like GTO has been dreaming OTR for a while now, with his new engine combo he will be zipping through most of the terrain.

His plan is very comprehensive and exciting.

My suggestions are --

Day#0 (Thursday afternoon - Night) Technical Session (Mumbai)

Day#1 (Friday morning - Evening OTR Session #1) (Panchgani/ Mahabaleshwar)

Day#2 (Saturday Morning -Evening OTR Session#2 ((Panchgani/ Mahabaleshwar)

Day#3 (Sunday) Drive back to Mumbai

Dates Day#0 can be 03 July or 10 July

Guys lets have some suggestions regarding the dates and some input for the plan.

Regards,

Arka

You bet! I am going to do everything I can to have my new engine run-in (hopefully) by then.

The plan you outlined sounds good. Lets wait a while for the other confirmations. I can have my secretary look up reasonably priced accomodation in Panchgani, as well as co-ordinating payments amongst all of us.

Can we come as spectators directly to the venue you fix at Panchgani/Mahabaleshwar (hoping that our cars would at least reach the place where you would be off roading)?

Sharat, are you joining the fun in your GV? Would be good if you could manage to take time off.. What say?

Hoping to be in for the OTR meet..should be good to meet our Mumbai friends..and our exclusive Navin..

GTO, Arka. why not plan an evening in Mumbai with all the tbhpians..that way the guys who dont come off road can still meet up!!

Hmm, I have decided not to push the GV into extreme off-roading situations. The birthday off-roading damaged the rear bumper (fiber), it is fixed now using thermocol padding, but replacing the bumper is too expensive. I am limiting it to moderate off-roading now, afterall it is my primary family vehicle bought mainly for bad-road handling.

However, there are thoughts of building a cheap & pure offroader which I won't mind pushing to the limits.

That will be a good idea..get a 540..simple, reliability can be built on it and you can plonk almost any engine in it..

Cheers

Hi Zeus, Well..for starters .. you'll need plenty of "Enthu" for trying and exploring your boundaries in driving skills.

If you've got a 4x4 with a transfer case, then great, you are already there..just broaden your boundaries..

If not, just come along and see how the guys with 4x4 take the terrain. I'm sure someone from your town will participate and be glad to give you a ride!

Cheers
