Same predicament here. Working this Saturday. As for the thorns, the Scorp has unpainted cladding till about waist height, but beyond that need to figure out a way.

One idea was a "car bra" as it's called - where you get a tarpaulin cover that sits flush over the hood. For the sides, you can get a tie-down tarpaulin stitched for each of the doors and fenders - sort of what they use to mask cars that are yet unreleased. Keen to explore this idea?

Cheers,

tsk1979, don't worry too much about the thorns. There will be small scratches but barely visible on a colour like Pearl White.

The guys seem to be planning a Barbeque on the lake bed.
Sounds wicked.

Are you Ankit by any chance !???? as I was chatting this guy who joined today with a Gypsy up at NIOC LOL

Hey Naveen, I think I will get some snacks... will try and get some kebabs as well. I would have liked to know how long it would be so some timelines can be told to the wife... lest she call me every couple of hours!

I am very excited as this would give me a chance to test the diesel transplant that I just did!!

See you SAT!

Hi Suman, hope all is well. I joined JeepThrills many months ago. Have not taken my Safari since its not 4x4 :-(
Have been planning to buy a MM540/550, but other things have taken priority the jeep. Will definitely buy one in the next 6 months.
So far I have gone for 3 OTRs with other Jeepers. They've all been great fun!

Suman ji, ab bhi jyada mat bano. Unless fording water/thorns, the pulsar will match the safari

And no repair bills either

So big people, can us small people on pulsar come? I might come direct, like 4pm - have client meeting till like 2!!

PS: Swift has enough offroading in gaon itself, no point doing worse

Yes, but as I said, nothing to beat the kabootar in the loft - you can be soaring high above the lessor mortals on the ground

Guys keep your eye out for the Black Toyota Prado at the meet, we installed a Safari Snorkel Kit on it yesterday, looking awesome!

Hey Arush! So that's where Arjun got the snorkel done. Will give you a blow by blow on how it fared. My only conceren was whether the prado would make it without underbody damage. I checked with Sarvinder he seemed to think we should do just fine.

Hi torque-ative. I was waiting for a meet to happen last month i could have gotten in the hummer. But alas it has gone back to the US now. I really wanted to check its offroading capabilities. I'll try to join you guys next time with my gypsy, its opened up for some work this weekend. I have never been to an offroad meet before so definitely wanting to come join soon.

Arush, a pic of that snorkel fit would've been great. As you know, off and on I've been enquiring about a snorkel for my Scorpio..

This is something new to me to know that aftermarket snorkels are now available in India. Can I please have some more details as I was planing to design one for MM540 by myself otherwise.
