I would like to know what is the standard number of leaf springs that comes standard with CL500/CL550 Mahindra jeeps. The reason being, in the second hand Jeep I purchased the number of leaf springs seems to be not even between front and rear and also between the rear left and right.

Renjith, the number of leaves between any two pairs either front or back must be same. The no. of leaves at front and back as a whole can differ. If you are saying the Left and Right side leaf count at Rear is different, then it is ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT, please get it corrected ASAP. I am giving you the part nos. of leaf springs used in CL550 (latest gen).

Front Spring assy- 0075601 (Complete set)
Rear Spring assy- 0402AA0530N (Complete set)

Hi Renjith,

The CJ3B/CJ340/CJ500D/MM540/MM550XD.

Have the same length Leaf Springs Front & Rear.

The Front is interchangeable amongst all other front Sets.

The Rear Leaf Spring is interchangeable amongst all other Rear Sets.

Also the no. of leaves in Front Left and Front Right are same

The no. of leaves in Rear Left and Rear Right are same.

The Length of the corresponding leaf springs in the pack must be same. No use having same no. of leaves and the sequence and length are different when fitted in the pack.

CJ3B Military Front 10 Rear 11
Classic Front 7 Rear 8
MM540 Front 8 Rear 9
MM550XD Front 10 Rear 12

You can customise the no. of leaves in your spring pack depending on what you what, in terms of ride, roll, articulation.
