This is a new club we have opened in Hyderabad , vehicles of members and our team will be showcased in this thread.
The 1st vehicle is a MM550 with
2" shackle lift
OME shocks
31" Maxxis big horns
Custom matt finish paint job
Hand made M38AI grill
Handmade M38A1 dash board
Stock XD3P ENGINE .
Owner : Abinav REDDY
This is a very tastefully done up 550 by Abhinav, saw the end product in person.
Also hope to see it in action at AKC and EXXAM.

Fantastic Jeep!! I Liked the way tailgate has been done and also the position of Hi-Lift Jack is interesting. Also which Winch is it?
Hyderabadis do have a great taste when it comes to Jeeps and Foodclap:. Very tastefully done 5x0. The front ST treatment could have been much better though. BTW, what wheel rims are those?

Franky, AFAIK the matt finish paint job cost almost 80k to 1L right??.

Great thread you have started, I for one will definitely be subscribed to this.
Just one question: why are the lower leaf springs wrapped in protective cover- any particular reason? Does that provide any advantage? or is it just that it yet to be removed?

To keep the muck away and retain the spring lubrication, i suppose. IIRC old cars came with leather wrapped spring leafs, basically same concept.
A Lovely Thread. All eyes glued to this thread to have a look at the Offroading beasts of Hyderabad being showcased here. A lovely Jeep there Abhinav. Everytime I see a jeep, my heart skips a beat.

Spot on Jaggu Sir,
many jeepers from Hyderabad and Bhopal still follow this practice. i used the same contraption in my WILLYS for few years and there is a noticeable difference in ride quality. and yes leafs noise reduces drastically.

Dear all,
WWII Jeeps have used these spring covers in Asian and African continents as the terrain is dusty and dust mixed with grease turns into an abrasive compound apart from drying out the grease.
These are custom stitched covers, to keep the dust, grime and slush out of the grease packed leaf springs. Great for off roading.
Like Jaggu mentioned and also Shubendra's observation, many in Hyderabad get this done on their Jeeps.
It is inexpensive yet effective. Get a good craftsman to do the job either in canvas, leather or FRP.

^^ I think FRP is not a good idea for such a part. The kind of fluctuating loads experienced by a Leaf Spring will not encourage such a use. Anything used must have "flexibility" built into it.
