Nice to see the period correct steering wheel and tail gate with the JEEP embossed.
2 questions what is the 3rd little gear stick lever for, and why is the spare wheel bracket on the left? |
Hi
1. The third gear stick for 4 wheel drive low/high. The second (middle) is to engage and disengage.
2. The Spare wheel mount seems to have been modified by the previous owner. Will share the picture sometime later.
Team BHP Stickers ( A must for all of Us)
Had ordered these beautiful Team BHP stickers. I feel they are a must have for all of us members. The quality is also top notch. Thank You

Electrical Works
Today Finally the electrical work has started.
Wiring. My electrician advised me to keep the old wiring only as it was in a very condition and good quality wires were used. Moreover, he also said that it was a hand made set up and not the readymade ones. Thanking the previous owner, we now only plan to repair it, change all the taping and put the wire in the casing.
Fuze. The previous fuze box had a system of connecting wires with no fuzes whatsoever. We decided to change it into a simple box where in the cartridge type of fuzes fit in. They will also be a main fuze along with this fuze box. The fuze box and connected relays will be used.
Planned Connection for Lights and Wipers.
Steering Control. The following will be controlled from the steering control
a. Head Lights - Both high and low beam.
b. Hazard Light.
c. Wipers.
d. Indicators
Pull Switch. There are three pull switches planned.
Pull Switch No 1. For focus light
Pull Switch No 2. For Convey light at the front and the rear
Pull Switch No 3 . To turn off the engine.
Additional Connection The following additional connection are planned.
1. One internal light with its own switch
2. One Light in the engine bay with its own switch.
3. One light below the tub with a asperate switch.
4. USB charger.
5. A coupler for a music system ( not planned to install it right now)
The reverse light will be directly connected to the reverse gear mechanism.
Other Updates
Fitment of Lights
1. Complete oil and lubricants have been changed to include engine oil, gear oil, differential oil and brake oil.
2. A new Black Canvas is being stitched as per our design.
3. The rear seat is being remade, however, no changes are being done to the front seat.
Electricals Completed
Today the rewiring and fitment of all electrical items was completed. Now the Jeep has gone for the fabrication of the Canvas and fitment of seats.
Final Checking of the Lights and all connections before mounting various casings
A picture to show the casings on the wirings
Finally Home
The boy is finally home. Enclosing a picture. The front two tyres will be now changed with MRF NDMS which I have already procured.
I have also got an antennae and a Jerrycan with stand which I may install later.

By the way, what are the 2 colours for?

Nice. The black windshield frame and top look great against the body beige.
Down the line you might take a look at GEOLANDER G015 A/T tyres or some such tyre. I would have told you earlier to spend money on better tyres but I didn't want to stress your wallet or your marriage.
By the way, it's not a "he", it's a "she". And she is pretty.

Hi Dan,
Thank You . This tyre is in my bucket list. However, as I have already bought the NDMS, so will pend it for a bit;).

I always call a JEEP a boy, especially after I have named him after PHANTOM after the brave Army Dog who how laid down his life in the line of duty
COSMETIC CHANGES
Just some pictures

I named my 2018 Thar "ALPHA GEEK" after the famous airborne unit, the "ALPHA GEEKS" whose mission it was to drop behind enemy llines and install GOTOs into enemy software, rendering it unstructured and cost prohibitive to maintain.
"ALPHA GEEK"
That is great tribute to the legendary Airborne Guys. You Thar looks Great. Cheers
