Nice review, keep posting such stuff.....even if old. I am particulary interested in a slugfest between LC80, landrover defender 190 , jeep wrangler unlimited. Wish some one could test best basic indian offroader, CL/ MM series with say a Gypsy, gurka. Some one on 4wd pickups, Bolero 4wd with trax gama di 4wd, scorpio wih safari purely off road. I know BS motoring had tested few on my wish list, but where are the updates?

Most of the Indian magazines barely test offroaders as they should be, they consider kicking up some dirt for a photograph offroading.
Even the Car India review of the old Gurkha left me wanting for more.
The best place to read reviews/reports for Indian 4x4s is the TBHP 4x4 section.

I am sanguine about the reviews posted by motoring magazines, but somehow they are not up to the mark as far as 4x4 vehicles go!
I keep on reading the reviews, but being an extensive user of M&M and MG, I understand that there is something lacking in the reviews. Secondly, the reviews are generally of new vehicles; but on ground we have to use them for extended vintages also, which is never covered in such writeups.

I can provide some first hand experience, on at least, the above mentioned vehicles if you wish to know something specific.
