Congrats GTO on getting the JEEP a new lease of life.

i was waiting for this since you posted the pic of new Engine in another JEEP thread.

Injoy the JEEP

Congrats GTO on getting your jeep back, how much did M&M charge you for a new engine by the way?

It would be great if you could share with us, who much such a big overhaul cost.

Dear GTO - thank you for all the compliments. I just did my little bit. I am happy to see that you are delighted with your CL340. Enjoy the 4*4.

Oh, by the way, if this makes you so much delighted, what would you say if we raised the bar much further? I know you will be interested. Let's see. I'll leave it at that for now.

Please accept my best personal regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Congrats GTO, good to see your Jeep has a new lease of life

Samurai,
Looks its your turn to replace the engine, I see you mentioning it multiple times that engine is getting over heated :), hope this triggers a thought in your mind.

You need to buy a winch now. Jeep looks good. Congrats!

Yup, a winch is definitely on my list of modifications. But at a later stage.

M&M suggest varying the rpm during the running in period to allow the piston rings to expand and higher rpm =higher oil pressure and better lubrication.

Thanks for the tip, Arka. Also many thanks for locating a Classic rear diff for my Jeep. Your support has been motivating.

Looks the same as before the engine install. I haven't got any body work done on her this time. There is some amount of rust here and there; prolly get it attended to in the next year.

I live near the ocean. Rust is the biggest enemy of my Jeep.

Well, it wasn't cheap, but still a small price to pay for a mechanically new SWB Jeep which is rare today. Bill was about 60% of the on-road price of the Classic in 1997 (345,904 + Insurance). Do the math :)

Maybe we would be able to do the next outdoor stint in both our respective Jeeps. Congrats once again. Id love to see the jeep personally sometime so ill call you for that.:)

There is a fairly large 4x4 gang brewing in Mumbai. We'll have a ton of fun offroading in our respective 4x4's! Look forward to it.

Drop a line anytime you are in this part of town for a testdrive.

Oh man, what do you have in mind now?!!

Congrats,Nice job on the Engine, if you do not drive it every day just start it for couple of minutes everyday in runningin period, You should get the body work done,at least a paint job..and a winch. Hope to see it some day.

GTO, do you have power steering or is that just a nice after market steering wheel I see? Or is it original?

When you buy a brand new motor does the peripheral stuff come with it...alternator, water pump etc or do you have to order that separate?

congrats on the rush GTO...awesome...

GTO,

Good job on the Jeep! That's the way a Jeep should be overhauled. It is ready for at least another 100k km.

That has to be one of the nicest examples in the country of the CJ3B.

Now go and get some mud on it.

Regards,

Fantastic! It feels great to see her back on her feet!! Have a great time GTO and for the guys at Mahindra Milestone...- just wonderful!!

Wow! Congratulations. Nice to see the classic back with a new heart. I sincerely hope that M&M will relaunch a limited edition version of the classic once more. They were in production even in 2000, but were meant for export only.

Hope to see your classic on some off road trips around Pune.

congratulations! why didn't you go for a TCed one instead of NA one?

Congratulations, GTO. Wonderful restoration. The Chennai Jeepers are glad we could do our 2 cents for India's greatest auto forum's founder.
I'm really glad you and the XD3 are getting along real well :)

congratulations GTO now you really get me confusing with which off roader to plan for after all this breath taking review and pure love for the JEEP. three cheers to the stunner, well atleast to me this one was always one.

Ahh it looks like all the rebuilds are coming out of the workshops this month!

Congrats Rush and here's wishing you many more miles off the road!
