congrats on owning a jeep and doing it up as per your taste.
if i may ask, how much you paid for the jeep and where all you did your modifications, Offroad zone or Robbies?
cant wait to see the photos of your jeep after the dressing it up! |
Hi Parm, I bought it for 12K and ended up spending another 26K more for Lifting kit, Tyres, Alloys, Hardtop and a full repaint.
Watch this thread for more updates
Cheers

JeepMkd,
It has Inline six cylinder 4.0L engine.
After few days of driving around with small stock tyres and lift kit, I was kind of getting desperate to get the tyres and alloy wheels I had ordered.
A week later I got a call from the mechanic saying that the tyres and wheels have come. With lot of excitement I went back to get them installed.
By the time I reached there my mechanic got the tyres installed on the wheels and got it balanced.
See pic of my YJ waiting to get new shoes.Compare the size of OE tyres and the new ones. They are really BIG.
As soon as the tyres were installed I took it out of the garage.
Wow! check out my Jeep with new GT wheels and Cooper Discoverer STT 32 x 11.5 x R15 tyres.
The wheels looks so good and the tyres are really aggressive and the combination looks pretty good on this yellow Jeep.
I had to stretch myself to get into the Jeep with new tyres and to get out I had to jump :)
If you don't believe it check out this picture and see the ground clearance, Now I really need to carry a ladder to get in and out of my Jeep.
Finally to wrap up, see the rear view especially the spare wheel.
Also look at the track gained with wider tyres.
Now I have another issue to tackle.
I need to go for wider fender flares to stop water/mud /sand splashing. After checking the cost of fender flares..I decided not to do it due to budget constraints.
With this "My Jeep Wrangler YJ buildup" Stage1 is 80% completed with 2 items remaining. 1) Full metal doors and 2) a good paint job!!
Check this space for more updates...
Looks great. What's the cost of that total set? I'm sorry if you've already mentioned here.

And what's the cost of this mod?
nice alloys. frankly speaking you need to get rid of those side stickers, need a good paint job, make it look little more rugged. this is my dream car trust me.
Hi Jeep Captain,
You have a real nice thread going on. I am converting my MM550 into a Jeep Wrangler and the wheel arches and body skirts are similar to the ones on your jeep. Hopefully the Jeep should be ready by end of next week.
I would appritiate if you could view my thread and give suggestions if you have any.

Rudra Sen,
Are you asking about the tyres and wheels? I paid about INR 65K for the set of 5.
and fender flares was costing about INR 35K including shipping from US.
See Below if you want to find out what I am talking about.

Devang
Your wish is granted :) . those stickers and decals have been removed and Jeep is already painted with "Detonator Yellow" colour which comes on new Wrangler JK's.
Watch this space for the Jeep with new skin.
the hardtop robs away its looks.
It was better off with the OE door and Top.
IMO, the hardtop looks amazing. Congrats on the new shoes...looking good ! I also think the 'retro' stripes need to go.
jeepcaptain-amazing looking ride there dude,i was about to ask you to change the color, now that you mentioned that, waiting for the pics after color change.congrats.
The new wheel/tyre combo has really added an offroad character to it...I agree with MexXxentric that soft top would have looked even better but hard to drive in dubai during summers.

Mexxentric,
I know man. But I dont need to explain you about UAE weather or summer right.
I use hardtop for summer and I am keeping my softop for winter drives.
